She Was Buried Alive. But Tonight? SHE RISES!

Happy Resurrection Sunday, Sis.

As the celebrations on this day are coming to an end of celebrating an empty tomb, you may still be carrying the weight of your own?

Part 1: What Got Buried?
Some of us buried our calling because it didn’t “fit” the family we were born into.
Some of us buried our sensuality because the church told us we could only be pure or passionate, never both.
Some of us buried our joy in motherhood, our voice in marriage, our confidence in crisis.

We buried our dreams to survive.
We buried our pleasure to be accepted.
We buried our truth to keep the peace.

But just because it was buried…doesn’t mean it’s gone.
Buried things still breathe.
They just need the right moment to rise again. And that moment, is NOW!

Part 2: What I Resurrected in My Life
I buried a lot of things to be the woman everyone could rely on.
I buried my rest to be dependable.
I buried my some of my dreams to be supportive.
I buried many of my desires to keep the peace.

But this past year, something in me refused to stay buried.

I resurrected my voice; the one I was told was too loud, too bold, too much.
I resurrected my pleasure; the one I was shamed for exploring or even desiring.
I resurrected my womanhood; outside the roles of wife, mother, nurturer.
I resurrected me; fully.

Because this is what resurrection really looks like.
Not just being saved, but being seen.
Not just coming back to life, but taking up space with that life.

Part 3: Why Resurrection Is a Revolution
Resurrection is the boldest thing a woman can do after grief.
After betrayal.
After rejection.
After staying quiet too long.

Because it means you’re no longer waiting for someone to come save you.
You’re rolling the stone away with your own hands.

You’re declaring that what they tried to kill in you…your sensuality, your joy, your creativity, your voice; still lives.
Still breathes.
Still belongs.

And not only is it rising; it’s reigning.
